Founded in 2006, E-Discuss (aka Energy Discuss SF) is a community of climate solutionists (mostly) based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We bring together climate scientists, engineers, designers, entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, policymakers, regulators, NGOs, academics, students, and newly engaged climate citizens for candid, off-the-record, Chatham House Rule discussions to share knowledge, foster collaborations, and overcome challenges scaling up climate solutions.
We started as a small group of friends sharing perspectives during dinner salons in Cody Taylor’s kitchen, united by visions of a better future (and many of us inspired by Gil Masters’ climate technology classes at Stanford). We’ve since grown to a volunteer-led community of over 1,300 climate professionals, with over 200 events featuring a wide range of speakers at the forefront of advancing climate solution technologies and policies. We also welcome folks seeking knowledge and support while newly transitioning towards climate work.
To join our community and receive invitations to our monthly events, please apply through the form below or via our Google Group, or connect with E-Discuss organizers Ian Monroe or Thomas Lee on LinkedIn with a few lines about your work on climate solutions.
